Global Comet
Program Overview New Program Overview
The Global Comet Ambassador Program is a select group of student volunteers dedicated to supporting, promoting and representing study abroad and is sponsored by the Education Abroad department. The Global Comet Ambassador program is comprised of students who have studied abroad through UT Dallas and demonstrate a willingness to serve.

Mission: To bring an awareness and participation in the globalization of UTD's community through peer to peer student experiences by fostering participation in study abroad through UT Dallas Education Abroad events and departmental study abroad efforts.
About Icon Application Process
  • Eligibility requirements
    • Minimum 2.5 GPA
    • Previously studied abroad through UT Dallas
  • Apply through Comets Abroad Portal by clicking Apply Now
Academic Programs Program Requirements
  • Complete at least 10 volunteer hours per semester
  • Attend monthly meeting coordinated by EA Staff
  • Commit to participating for at least one (1) semester
Award Opportunities and Incentives
  • Collaborate with UT Dallas Education Abroad
    • Volunteer at departmental programs and events
    • Host information tables or sessions to promote study abroad
    • Share study abroad experience through social media and blog posts
  • Receive Education Abroad swag, including a Global Comet Ambassador T-shirt
  • Recommendation letter from Director of Education Abroad, upon request
    • JSOM students may request a recommendation letter from the JSOM Study Abroad Office
  • Graduation recognition (details TBD)
