About City  About Suzhou
Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University is located in Suzhou, one of the oldest cities found in China’s Yangtze Basin area. Suzhou boasts a history of more than 2,500 years but is also striving to become one of China’s most modern cities. Today, Suzhou’s canals, stone bridges, pagodas, and meticulously designed gardens have contributed to its status as one of the top tourist attractions in China. The classical gardens have even been added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Alongside beautiful tourist spots, Suzhou has many excellent sporting facilities, shopping malls, and entertainment districts.

The university’s campus is located near Suzhou’s historic center and is easily accessible by an efficient public transportation system that includes buses, taxis, bicycle rental, and metro. In addition, China’s high-speed rail network links Suzhou with many of the country’s largest cities.
