Academic Programs Academics and Courses
EBS offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate level courses for exchange students. More than 90% of undergraduate courses and 100% of graduate courses are taught in English. Courses are typically conducted in either a lecture or seminar format, and students will be assessed by written exams, mandatory participation, and group work. The timetable at EBS includes courses that span the whole semester, courses that last several weeks, and shorter courses that meet over an intensive 2-3 day period.

EBS teaches the majority of its programs in modules, which are groups of courses that are tied together and can only be taken as a whole. An overall module exam is taken at the end of the semester, which includes components from all courses within the module, but only one overall grade is received. Stand-alone courses may also be available. Refer to the course catalog for more information.

Exchange students may also choose to enroll in a German language course, which begins two weeks prior to the official start of the semester. Participation is free of charge for exchange students and is highly recommended.

Depending on nationality and length of stay, exchange students accepted to study at EBS may need a visa prior to their arrival in Oestrich-Winkel.  If a visa is required, the student should calculate at least 8-10 weeks time to apply for it.  Since visa rules and regulations change frequently, consult the nearest German embassy or consulate for the most up-to-date information.
