KUBS is situated in Seoul, the capital and largest metropolis of the Republic of Korea, commonly known as South Korea. The city of Seoul is a center for Korean history and culture but is also considered a rising global city, home to some of the world's largest technology companies. The history of Seoul stretches back more than two thousand years, and the city boasts five UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Changdeok Palace, Hwaseong Fortress, Jongmyo Shrine, Namhansanseong and the Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty.

Exchange students can choose from a variety of courses offered in both Korean or English. Approximately 65% of undergraduate courses and 50% of graduate courses are taught in English. Typically, coursework is assessed through exams, presentations, attendance, and group projects. Students will receive a finalized list of courses approximately a month prior to their exchange semester.
Korean language courses are also offered to exchange students. There are six different levels from Beginner to Advanced.

On-campus student residences consist of double or single occupancy rooms with shared bathrooms and kitchen facilities. All residence halls are located within about 20 minutes of walking distance from the main campus. Exchange students can also choose from a variety of off-campus accommodations, including private student accommodations and homestays with local families.
