|UEBA is situated in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia and the country’s largest city. Due to its favorable location along the Danube, Bratislava has historically been a significant commercial and administrative center. This modern metropolis offers historic charm, a bustling social life, and cultural attractions, all within the coziness of a rather small city. Exchange students will find there is much to explore in Bratislava, including palaces, modern shopping and trade centers, local cuisine, sporting events, galleries, and more.
Many of the city’s main attractions are reachable on foot, but Bratislava also boasts an extensive public transportation system. The city is also well-connected to many other large cities throughout Europe.

|Academics and Courses|
|Exchange students are able to choose from a range of undergraduate and graduate courses taught in Slovak or English. The teaching process in the Slovak Republic includes various forms of instruction, including lectures, seminars, laboratory work, projects, and practical learning. Exchange students may also be able to enroll in a Slovak language course for beginners.|
|For more information, visit the Academic Programs webpage.|
|Exchange students are typically offered accommodation in one of the university’s student dormitories. Students accepted to study at UEBA are encouraged to apply for housing as early as possible, since availability may be limited. If interested, exchange students may also be able to find their own private accommodation in the city.|
|For more information, visit the Accommodations webpage.|
|Depending on the nationality and length of stay, exchange students accepted to study at UEBA may need to apply for a student visa. Each student should consult the nearest Slovak embassy or consulate in their home country. If a visa is required, the student will typically need to submit their visa application and supporting documents in person.
Upon arrival, exchange students will also need to apply for a temporary residence permit at the respective police office in Slovakia.
