About City  About Taipei
NTU is located in Taipei, the capital and largest city of Taiwan. With more than 2.5 million inhabitants, Taipei serves as the country's economic, political, and cultural center. From the world's tallest building to the biggest collection of Chinese art, Taipei is a city filled with fascinating contrasts - a mix of the modern and the traditional, of the urban and the natural.

The country of Taiwan is situated in the Pacific Ocean and lies off the southeastern coast of China, serving as a natural and uniquely positioned gateway to Asia. Many major cities, including Tokyo, Seoul, and Shanghai, are easily accessible by direct flight.

Academic Programs Academics and Courses
NTU College of Management offers more than 100 courses taught in English each academic year, allowing the integration of international exchange students who are not proficient in Mandarin Chinese. Exchange students may also be permitted to take courses offered within other departments at NTU. Coursework is typically assessed through written or take-home exams, oral presentations, group reports, and essays.

Exchange students are also encouraged to enroll in Chinese language courses, which are offered at a variety of levels. Students will be assigned to an appropriate level upon completing a placement test.
For more information, visit the Academic Programs webpage.
Housing Housing
Exchange students are typically offered accommodation in Prince House, an on-campus dormitory. The two room types available include a single or shared suite with private bathroom. Each room is equipped with a single bed, a study desk, bookshelves, a refrigerator, air-conditioning, and internet connections.
For more information, visit the Accommodations webpage.
Student Visa Student Visa
Depending on nationality and length of stay, exchange students accepted to study at NTU will typically need to obtain a valid visitor or resident visa prior to their arrival in Taiwan. There is no “student visa” for international students studying in Taiwan; students should apply for the appropriate visa based on their length of stay.
  • Visitor visa: exchange period less than 180 days
  • Resident visa: exchange period more than 180 days
Since visa rules and regulations change frequently, consult the nearest Taiwanese embassy or consulate for the most up-to-date information.
