Academic Programs Academics and Courses
CityU offers courses in a variety of subject areas within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS), including public policy, Asian studies, and applied social sciences. Most inbound exchange students take 4-5 courses (12-15 credits) per semester.

English is the teaching medium at most universities, including CityU, but both Chinese and English are the official languages in Hong Kong. English is widely used within the government and also by the legal, professional and business sectors.
For more information, visit the Academic Programs webpage.
Housing Housing
The Student Residence Office provides on-campus accommodation for almost 3,700 students. Most of the residence halls cluster at Cornwall Street, forming a complex of student dormitories about 10 minutes away from main campus on foot.
Students should contact the Student Residence Office and apply for housing by the posted deadlines due to very limited residence places and increasing demand.
For more information, visit the Accommodations webpage.
Student Visa Student Visa
Depending on nationality and length of stay, exchange students accepted to study at City University will typically need to obtain a student visa prior to their arrival in Hong Kong. Once accepted, the Global Services Office will provide visa guidance and assistance. Since visa rules and regulations change frequently, consult the nearest embassy or consulate of Hong Kong for the most up-to-date information.
